1. Vì sao nên đăng ký bản quyền phần mềm máy tính?
Đăng ký bản quyền phần mềm máy tính không chỉ giúp chủ sở hữu được toàn quyền sử dụng mà đồng thời xử lý và ngăn chặn các hành vi xâm phạm của các đối tượng xấu đối với phần mềm. Và đây cũng chính là căn cứ pháp lý chứng minh quyền sở hữu với phần mềm khi có việc xảy ra tranh chấp với bên khác.

2. Nội dung quyền sở hữu trí tuệ đối với phần mềm máy tính
Theo Luật sở hữu trí tuệ về quyền tác giả đối với tác phẩm bao gồm quyền nhân thân và quyền tài sản. Cụ thể như sau:
Quyền nhân thân bao gồm (Điều 19 Luật Sở hữu trí tuệ):
Đặt tên cho tác phẩm của bản thân Đứng tên thật hoặc bút danh đối với tác phẩm của mình và được nêu tên thật hoặc bút danh khi tác phẩm đó được công bố ra ngoài cũng như được sử dụng Bản thân công bố tác phẩm hoặc người khác công bố Bảo vệ sự toàn vẹn của tác phẩm, không cho bất kỳ ai sửa chữa, cắt xén hay xuyên tạc tác phẩm dưới bất kỳ hình thức nào gây tổn hại đến danh dự và uy tín của tác giả
Quyền tài sản bao gồm (Điều 20 Luật Sở hữu trí tuệ):
Tạo tác phẩm phát sinh Trình diễn sản phẩm đến trước công chúng Sao chép tác phẩm đó Phân phối, xuất bản bản gốc hoặc bản sao của tác phẩm Truyền đạt tác phẩm đến với công chúng bằng các hình thức như trực tuyến, hữu tuyến hoặc các phương tiện truyền thông khác Tác giả có quyền cho thuê tác phẩm bản gốc hay bản sao
Lưu ý: Tổ chức, cá nhân khai thác, sử dụng một phần hoặc toàn bộ quyền tác giả, quyền của chủ sở hữu quyền tác giả cần xin phép và trả tiền bản quyền, nhuận bút cho tác giả, chủ sở hữu quyền tác giả.
